Internally, the space is characterised by exposed pine rafters which form the roof of the extension. The timber structure has been carefully detailed with hidden connections to provide a high-quality and clean finish. The timber is used to highlight the different areas for dining, cooking, and relaxing, while maintaining an open and flexible space. The columns have been cleverly designed to provide additional storage for the family.
The main rear wall of the house has been removed and the upper storeys are supported by a new steel frame, which also supports a floating oriel window to provide added connectivity to the garden.
