Alex, and his brother, were introduced to the world of buildings at an early age by their father. He encouraged them to get involved, pick up some tools, and build things. That practical instinct has stayed with him since.

As an adult, he has built his own house, designing the structure during Covid and receiving final sign-off from Building Control recently. It is this kind of hands-on experience that shapes how he approaches engineering: he understands what contractors need and considers buildability from the earliest stages, rather than focusing solely on analysis and report production.

Outside of the office, Alex is an active person. He played rugby for years, and still runs, cycles, and golfs whenever he has the chance. His newest and most absorbing hobby, however, is being a dad.
