Throughout her career, Alison has taken inspiration from the places she’s lived and worked, and the people she’s met along the way. She spent some time working in Bath a number of years ago and her experience instilled an appreciation of sympathetically restoring historic structures. While in London, she has designed projects large and small from art installations, Christmas decorations, Grade I listed schools, large concert venues, and mosques. On all projects, Alison enjoys the imaginative problem solving they require, combining her analytical skills with creative thinking to find simple solutions to complex problems.

She is currently working to refine and develop our internal processes to improve efficiency and quality, as well as focusing our approach to deliver low carbon and more sustainable schemes. Alison is responsible for our IStructE and ICE chartership training programme, ensuring graduate engineers have the support they need to pass their professional interview and exam.

In addition, she places an emphasis on social value and dedicates time to work with children from the age of five up to architecture students at university – inspiring the next generation into the built environment world.

Alison has undertaken a great deal of research and training in sustainable design and believes that for the industry as a whole to achieve net zero goals, a more cohesive approach is needed for designers, engineers, contractors and suppliers – and this must be driven by the government to ensure drastic changes occur.
