Queensway House achieves Practical Completion

This is a very exciting announcement for us – Queensway House has achieved Practical Completion!

We’re so happy for our wonderful clients at the Mary Ward Adult Education Centre. The journey for them to refurbish, extend, and move into their new home in Stratford has not been easy.

The client team have been incredibly receptive to input from the entire design and construction team, and trusting us all to deliver them with a new HQ that can cater for their expansive service offering as a charitable organisation.

It’s not often that the majority of the structure remains exposed, and so it’s particularly rewarding for us to see the structure as part of the architectural aesthetic.

The building, designed by AWW, looks fantastic! All of us here at SD are incredibly happy with and proud of our involvement.

As part of our drive to offer low carbon solutions, we undertook a carbon assessment of a refurbishment vs demolition and new build option for the existing 1970s Queensway House. Our refurbishment solution offered a 40% carbon reduction in comparison – find out more details by clicking on the photo in the sidebar.
